A classic marshmallow-creme fudge, studded with nuts and garnished with maraschino cherries.

Grease a 13 x 9-inch pan. Combine the sugar, margarine and milk in a heavy saucepan; bring to a full rolling boil, stirring constantly, and boil 5 minutes or to 238°F.

Remove from heat and stir in the chocolate until melted. Add the marshmallow creme, nuts and vanilla; beat until well blended.

Pour into the pan, garnish with maraschino cherries, and cool at room temperature before cutting into squares. Makes about 3 pounds.
