A few things worth thinking twice about before saying out loud on a date, whoever you're with:
- Comparing your date, even lightly, to someone from your past.
- Commenting on their weight, diet, or eating habits.
- Anything that sounds like a backhanded compliment.
- Dismissing something they clearly care about.
- Making a joke at their expense in front of others.
- Bringing up a serious topic — money, exes, the future — before there's real trust built.
Kindness in how you speak goes further than any compliment. Say what you mean, but say it gently.
